Horizon Roofing was set up in 1998 by brothers Spencer and Stuart Osborn — and both still run the business today. From two roofers to 32 staff and £3m turnover, the foundations are the same: do the work right, train the next generation, and build a reputation customers come back to.
— The story so far
By 2001 strong growth and excellent leadership led to the natural move to establish Horizon Roofing as a limited company. The business built a reputation for high standards of health and safety and excellent quality of work — and launched its own rigorous training programmes, building Cornwall's first "training roof".
By 2006 a natural move into supplying materials to the roofing industry began, and in 2007 the Horizon Roofing Holdings group was formed, moving into its own 15,000 sq ft purpose-built warehouse at Carn Brea Business Park, Pool, Redruth.

Horizon isn't a holding-company brand with a distant board. Spencer and Stuart Osborn set the business up in 1998 and still run it today. You'll meet one of them on a serious project — and they'll know your job by name.
Managing Director
Spencer set up Horizon Roofing in 1998. Before that he ran his own company alongside his brother Stuart, and he's been in the roofing industry since leaving school. Spencer provides the leadership and vision that has made Horizon one of the foremost roofing companies in Cornwall.
An avid Tottenham Hotspur fan. Since breaking his leg (for the third time) Spencer has hung the boots up and now manages the club he played for — Trevenson FC.
Contracts Manager
Stuart is part of the original team that set up Horizon Roofing. He has the day-to-day responsibility for keeping live projects running smoothly — liaising with site agents, sequencing crews and maintaining quality control of workmanship.
Also a serious Spurs fan. Stuart played football to a strong standard for Braintree Town in his playing days and still pulls his boots on for his brother's side when called on.

All our roofing and lead teams are fully employed and from the local area — most have come through our apprentice courses, and every one of them is put through NVQ 2/3. We have strong retention: the majority of our roofers have been here more than three years, and our most senior roofers have been here since the company was set up in 1998.
